Apartment projects slowing down but still in the works

The former Takapuna Fire Station waspurchased in 2015 for developer McConnellClearmont’s first retirement village, which itsays will still go ahead in 2020.Marketing has just started on the Katrine (55-59 Anzac St), over the road from the Sargeson development, after the earlier Modulus apartments were pulled from the market around a year ago and the land sold.

Plans for luxury apartments above MilfordMall fell over in 2017, and a smaller, less expensive apartment block, Omana North, is nowbeing marketed.In May 2017, Summer Gardens at 3 Campbell Rd, Takapuna, was advertised as due to becompleted in late 2018.

Apartments there are still being sold off the plans. Auckland Council says the current wait time for an inspection is one to two days for residential properties and two to three for commercial.Codes of Compliance, issued once all the work has been completed, are currently being turned around within an average of 10 to 14 days.
