The Westlake Girls 1st XI Hockey team has taken out the Harbour Sec- ondary School Championship title for a third consecutive year.

The team won 2-1 in a tightly contested final against Rangitoto College.

Westlake scored 54 goals and conceded only two over six matches in the Harbour competition on the way to the final.

Hockey manager Linda Clouston said the team this year has been no- table for its strength and depth across all positions.

“The evenness and skill levels of this year’s team was seen in our goal scorers,” she says. Thirteen players scored at least one goal during the season.

The top scorers were Paige Blake, Rachel Bottcher, Georgina Shotter and Mackenzie Harvey.

The team retains many of its players for next year, which bodes well for whatever the rest of the season holds this year and into 2021, Clouston said.

The team now moves on as the top North Harbour team to compete in the College Sport Auckland Super City Premier Competition.
